SplitForms Booking · Massage therapists
Massage booking software for solo and multi-therapist practices
SplitForms Booking is massage scheduling software that runs in the browser. Clients book a 60 or 90-minute session with you or any therapist, answer a short intake, and can pay a deposit to your own Stripe account. A break you set is kept between clients. It costs $100/year for 10,000 bookings, after a 14-day free trial.
14-day free trial, no card. Booking is a paid add-on: $100/year per account.
Worked example
Session lengths and breaks, worked out for you
A solo therapist works 9:00–17:00 with start times every 15 minutes and a 15-minute break after each session. Two sessions are booked: 90-minute deep tissue at 10:00 and 60-minute relaxation at 13:00. These are the start times the booking page offers next, computed by the same code that runs your calendar.
| Client wants | Open start times |
|---|---|
| 60 minutes | 11:45, 14:15, 14:30, 14:45, 15:00, 15:15, 15:30, 15:45, 16:00 |
| 90 minutes | 14:15, 14:30, 14:45, 15:00, 15:15, 15:30 |
Nothing fits before 10:00, because a 9:00 session plus its break would run into the 10:00 client. The first opening after the deep tissue session is 11:45, once the break is over, and a 90-minute session only fits in the afternoon. If you want the 9:00 hour sold, book it as a shorter service or start the day earlier.
Intake questions
Ask what you need before the table, not a medical file
The “Client intake” starter
- Is this your first visit?
- Allergies or skin sensitivities (private)
- Are you pregnant? (private)
- Injuries or areas to avoid (private)
- Pressure preference
Plus a consent line clients tick before booking, which you can reword to include your cancellation policy. Private answers are encrypted at rest.
Keep it short and on purpose
Questions can apply to every service or only some, so the pregnancy question can show only for prenatal massage. Ask for what changes the session (allergies to oils, areas to avoid, pressure) and leave diagnoses, medication lists and treatment notes in your clinical records. SplitForms is not HIPAA compliant and does not sign a BAA (security).
Solo or team
One therapist or several, same booking page
Solo practice
With no staff added, the page books one client per time (“Spaces per time” set to 1). Connect your Google Calendar so personal events block slots. See the Google Calendar setup.
Several therapists
Add each therapist with their own weekly hours, time off and the services they offer, so only trained therapists get prenatal or sports bookings. Clients pick a name or “Anyone available”.
Who sees what
A therapist with the practitioner role sees only their own appointments and intake. Front desk handles every booking and the waitlist. Reports show the no-show rate per therapist.
Reminder emails and opt-in texts go out before every session (20 free SMS credits to start). Running a day spa with facials and body treatments too? See spa booking software.
Honest fit
When SplitForms is not the right massage software
- You bill insurance or need SOAP notes and clinical charting: use a practice-management system.
- You need HIPAA compliance or a signed BAA: SplitForms does not offer either.
- Couples massage is a big share of your bookings: one booking holds one therapist.
- You schedule rooms or tables separately from therapists: there are no room resources.
- You sell packages, memberships or gift cards, or need a point of sale and tips.
Only need a request form with no calendar? Use the free spa and massage appointment request form template.
Setup
Set up massage booking in four steps
Add your session lengths
Create a booking page, pick the Spa & salon business type and replace the starter services with your sessions: 60 minutes, 90 minutes, prenatal, a free consult. Each has its own length and price.
Set the break between clients
Set start times (every 15 or 30 minutes) and a break after each booking, for example 15 minutes to change the table and wash up. No one can book inside that gap.
Trim the intake questions
Start from the Client intake template (first visit, allergies, pregnancy, areas to avoid, pressure) and keep only what you need before the session.
Turn on deposits and reminders
Connect Stripe and ask for a deposit or full payment at booking, then turn on reminder emails and opt-in texts.

What is the best massage booking software for a solo therapist?
For a solo therapist who wants clients to book, get reminders and pay a deposit online, SplitForms Booking is a flat $100/year for 10,000 bookings a year, after a 14-day free trial. If you need insurance billing or clinical charting, choose a practice-management system instead.
Can I offer both 60 and 90-minute massages?
Yes. Each service has its own length, so a 90-minute booking blocks 90 minutes plus your break, and the booking page only offers start times where the whole session fits.
How do I keep a break between massage clients?
Set “Break after each booking” in Booking settings (0 to 240 minutes). The gap is kept around every booking, so a session can’t start until the break after the previous one ends, and can’t end so late that it eats into the next one’s break.
Is SplitForms HIPAA compliant for massage intake?
No. SplitForms is not HIPAA compliant and does not sign a BAA. Answers marked private are encrypted at rest, but keep intake to what you need before the session (allergies, areas to avoid, pressure) and keep treatment notes and medical records in your clinical system.
Can I charge a client who doesn’t show up?
Not automatically. SplitForms does not store cards or charge later. Take a deposit at booking (it stays in your Stripe account unless you refund it), or send a Stripe payment link afterwards for any amount; the link stays open for 24 hours.
Can clients book a couples massage?
Not as one booking. Each booking is one service with one therapist, so a couples session means two bookings at the same time with two therapists. If couples sessions are a big part of your menu, pick software that books several staff at once.
Does it work for a clinic with several massage therapists?
Yes. Add each therapist with their own hours, time off and the services they offer. Clients pick a therapist or “Anyone available”, and a therapist with the practitioner role sees only their own appointments.
