Formcarry review: monthly plans, uploads and AI tools

Formcarry is a hosted backend for forms you design yourself. Its current documentation covers native file uploads, automatic spam filtering and MCP tools for account operations. SplitForms publishes this review as a competing provider. The useful comparison is the capacity, storage and operational workflow your project needs; this is a review of public documentation, not a measured email-delivery or uptime test.

splitforms makes a competing form backend. This review is based on Formcarry's public pricing, docs and policies, checked .

Who Formcarry is for

Best for

  • Sites that need native uploads larger than SplitForms’ per-file allowance
  • Teams interested in Formcarry’s documented MCP account tools
  • Projects that prefer a recurring form allowance

Not for

  • Buyers whose main goal is a non-expiring prepaid balance
  • Free sites that need more than one form
  • Teams choosing solely on the cheapest cost per included submission

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Preserves your existing frontend markup and hosting choice
  • Paid native file handling with a documented per-file limit
  • Spam can be inspected rather than assumed deleted
  • MCP tools cover more than simply receiving a form POST

Cons

  • Free allowance is small and limited to one form
  • Annual equivalent prices must not be mistaken for month-to-month prices
  • Spam consumes the free allowance according to the spam documentation
  • Feature and integration limits need checking for the selected plan

How it connects to an existing site

Formcarry accepts POST requests from your form while you control the page, styles and behavior. Its introduction shows a per-form endpoint, named inputs and an Accept: application/json header for JavaScript requests. That makes it suitable for both static HTML and framework applications.

Check the final deployed page, not just the component preview. A form can render correctly while posting to an old endpoint or omitting fields. Keep a small representative request in your release checklist so a redesign does not silently change the lead data contract.

Read the billing period before comparing prices

Formcarry’s pricing page opens with annual equivalents and separately lists monthly prices in its FAQ. Use the same billing period when comparing services. The FAQ also names a Growth tier that is not shown among the four main cards; confirm its allowance and availability before budgeting around it.

A larger included allowance does not matter if the required feature is unavailable, and unused capacity is not a saving by itself. Compare expected submissions, attachment storage, team members and integration calls together.

Native file uploads are a meaningful feature

Formcarry documents paid file uploads of up to 10 MB per file, including multiple inputs and a single input with the multiple attribute. HTML requests need multipart encoding; JavaScript requests should use FormData without manually setting its Content-Type header.

For a job application or support form, test a realistic attachment and verify that the receiving team can open it. File count, total storage and retention also matter. Do not infer unlimited storage from a documented per-file maximum.

Automatic spam filtering does not require a puzzle

The spam guide describes automatic classification on every plan, a reviewable Spam view and suppression of normal notification emails for flagged entries by default. It recommends an email field and honeypot, with reCAPTCHA available for persistent abuse. Spam counts against Baby’s allowance; paid plans count legitimate entries.

This is a more complete system than a CAPTCHA-only description suggests. During evaluation, check false positives, the ability to inspect flagged messages and how changing controls affects real visitors. No vendor documentation establishes perfect detection.

Formcarry also has MCP tools

Its connection guide describes creating and updating forms, managing recipients, searching submissions, marking spam and reading delivery information through an AI client. That means MCP is a shared capability with SplitForms, rather than a unique reason to switch.

Treat the connection as access to your account data. Check the actions available to the chosen client and keep approval appropriate for changes to recipients or deletion. A public form endpoint and an authenticated agent connection have different trust requirements.

Where SplitForms makes a strong alternative

SplitForms Pro includes 5,000 submissions a month for $5/month, plus signed webhooks on paid plans. Free starts with 500 total submissions across unlimited forms. That can be a useful combination for developers managing several small sites or a steadily active lead funnel.

Formcarry’s documented 10 MB upload allowance can still be a reason to keep it when larger files matter. Compare the exact form and delivery workflow. When switching to SplitForms, preserve visitor field names, configure the new recipients and test storage and downstream integrations separately.

What should I verify before connecting Formcarry?

Review its account permissions, data terms and relevant plan limits for your use case. The documentation demonstrates a public form endpoint and a separate authenticated MCP workflow; that is not a security audit. Before connecting an AI client, understand which records it can access and which changes it can make. Use a limited, representative workflow to evaluate it.

Formcarry FAQ

Does Formcarry support MCP?

Yes. Its current connection guide documents form, recipient and submission tools for compatible AI clients.

Is Formcarry just a CAPTCHA form backend?

No. It documents automatic filtering, a spam review workflow and optional reCAPTCHA protection.

Can I switch without changing the visible form?

For your own HTML form, usually yes. Update the endpoint and required routing key, map special controls, then verify the production workflow.
